over
And though it is Easter
“Heat or Eat” has become
The motto of millions!

“Warm the Human not the home”
Is the new catchphrase
As millions huddle under blankets
And sleeping bags just to stay warm.

This Energy Poverty takes it’s toll
On the poor and the sick
And the elderly
No matter who they voted for

We find we cannot eat the lies
That our Government feeds us
We cannot warm our homes or ourselves
On the broken promises that burn before us

And we’re told it will only get worse
And perhaps we deserve no better
When we allow the tyrants to prosper
And the dishonest to rule.

This is the cross we Britons must bear
Because we allowed those who should protect us
To fill their pockets instead
To guzzle at the trough of their own greed.

We have allowed Newspaper magnates
To do our thinking for us
And form our opinions and prejudices
Are we just puppets on strings?

We have lost control of our country
And our disinterest and inaction
Brings the old Chinese curse closer
“May you live in interesting times!”
